Loanhead Children’s Day is Midlothian’s oldest and largest local festival. Founded in 1903, the event has grown to become one of Scotland’s foremost community events. Check out the photo galleries for 2010 , 2011 and 2012 photos   Loanhead Children's Day 2013 will take place on Saturday 22 June. The traditional Crowning Ceremony will be staged on Fountain Green in the centre of Loanhead. This will be followed by the Grand Procession, which is Midlothian's largest annual parade, and an afternoon programme of entertainment in the Memorial Park.   Prior to Children's Day itself an extensive programme of events will be held, commencing with the Carnival Parade on the evening of Friday 14 June. Floats, decorated vehicles, hundreds of characters in fancy dress and various bands will take part. The remainder of the Gala Week programme includes various sporting events and entertainment on the stage at Fountain Green. Latest News Tickets for the Singing Kettle show on Thursday 20 June will be on sale at Fountain Green, Loanhead on Wednesday 19 June from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm.
