Loanhead Children's Day 2013 took place on Saturday 22 June. The traditional Crowning Ceremony was staged on Fountain Green in the centre of Loanhead. This was followed by the Grand Procession, which is Midlothian's largest annual parade, and an afternoon programme of entertainment in the Memorial Park. 100s of photographs are now on display from 2013 Loanhead Gala Week Events.
Prior to Children's Day itself an extensive programme of events was held, commencing with the Carnival Parade on the evening of Friday 14 June. Floats, decorated vehicles, hundreds of characters in fancy dress and various bands took part. The remainder of the Gala Week programme included various sporting events and entertainment on the stage at Fountain Green.
