Wednesday 5 June – Thursday 27 June PHOTO DISPLAY
A display of historic photos of Loanhead Gala will be staged in Loanhead Library during normal Library opening hours.
   
Friday 14 June CARNIVAL PARADE
Floats, 8 bands and 100's of characters in fancy dress. Judging at Fountain Green from 6.30 pm. PLEASE NOTE THE NEW ASSEMBLY POINT FOR THE PARADE. Up to 15 classic cars which will be taking part in the parade can be viewed in the driveway to the old cemetery (entering from Burghlee Terrace adjacent to Harnes Court) from 6.30 pm. The parade moves off from Church Street at 7.30 pm and will proceed by Clerk Street, George Drive, Kennington Avenue, McNeill Avenue, The Loan and Muirfield Gardens, returning to Fountain Green for dispersal.
   
Saturday 15 June 5-A-SIDE FOOTBALL
Adult teams for the R L Scott Trophy. Burghlee Park, commencing 1.00 pm.
Entry fee £5.00 per team. Entries accepted on the day
   
Sunday 16 June FAMILY FUN RUN
Starts from Fountain Green. PLEASE NOTE NEW START POINT FOR THE RUN. Entrants should enrol from 10.30 am. Run starts at 11.00 am. Entry is free and all participants will receive a medal.

Fountain Green. 3.00 pm. All welcome.

Tuesday 18 June JUMBLE FOOTBALL
Loanhead Leisure Centre All Weather Pitch, commencing 6.30 pm. Open to all boys and girls up to P7. Teams will be selected at the event.

   
Thursday 20 June SENIOR CITIZENS' TEA DANCE
Loanhead Ex-Servicemen's Club, Academy Lane, commencing 1.30 pm.
Tickets £1. Available from Chrissie Rygula or Annette Perfect (0131 440 1380) or pay on the day.

DECORATED SHOP WINDOW COMPETITION
The decorated shop window competition will be judged on the afternoon of Thursday 20 June. All local shops and businesses are invited to decorate their premises for the Gala Week.

THE SINGING KETTLE
The Singing Kettle will perform a special Wild West Party show for younger children. Main Stage, Fountain Green, commencing 6.30 pm. Admission by pre-purchased ticket only. Tickets £2, on sale 28 May at Loanhead & St Margaret's Schools (playground for school morning drop off and afternoon pick up), 29 May at Paradykes School (playground for school morning drop off and afternoon pick up) and then on 3, 5, 11 & 13 June 6.30 pm – 7.30 pm at Fountain Green. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Entry will be refused for any unaccompanied children even if in possession of a ticket.

   
Friday 21 June PRIMARY SCHOOLS' PROCESSION & JOINT SCHOOLS' ASSEMBLY
The procession headed by MacTaggart Scott Loanhead Band and accompanied by the Trinity Occasional Pipers' Society will move off from Paradykes Primary School at 10.00 am proceeding by Mayburn Walk, Mayburn Avenue and Fountain Place. The pupils of Loanhead and St Margaret's Schools will then join the parade which will proceed by Clerk Street to Fountain Green.

At Fountain Green the Court Principals for 2013 will be introduced and musical entertainment featuring Fischy Music will be provided. At 11.45 am the procession will reform and will proceed to the Memorial Park by Church Street and Burghlee Terrace. On arrival at the Memorial Park refreshments will be distributed to all schoolchildren and to pre-school children holding tickets.

CHILDREN'S SPORTS
Memorial Park, commencing 1.00 pm. See programme for full list of sports events. During the afternoon, ice cream will be provided free for all of the children. Two roundabouts and Giant Inflatables will be in the park during the afternoon for the free use of children attending the Sports.

   
Saturday 22 June LOANHEAD CHILDREN'S DAY

7.30 am Judging of decorated house frontages commences.

9.00 am Collection of members of the Court from their homes commences.

9.45 am Collection of Queen Elect from her home in Paradykes Avenue, followed by the collection of the Retiring Queen from her home in Dalum Drive.

10.30 am The various groups accompanied by the bands move off from St Margaret's Hall, Clerk Street and proceed by Clerk Street and Church Street to Fountain Green.

10.45 am Crowning Ceremony on Fountain Green. This will be followed by the Mining Memorial Ceremony.

12.00 noon The Grand Procession moves off from Church Street. This is Midlothian's largest annual parade. The parade will follow the traditional route of Church Street, Clerk Street, George Drive, Kennington Avenue, McKinlay Terrace, Dryden Terrace and The Loan. This year's procession will be accompanied by the following 15 bands:-

12.45 pm The Grand Procession arrives at the Memorial Park.

1.00 pm Commencement of Afternoon Programme of Entertainment in the Memorial Park. Admission to the park is free for what is Midlothian's Biggest Free Show. Entertainment and attractions this year include:-

Sunday 23 June In the event that the sports scheduled for Friday 21 June are cancelled due to inclement weather, they will be re-scheduled for Sunday 23 June in the Memorial Park commencing at 2.00 pm.
